New Musclemania Superbody Physique Champion Nick Morrellhas added 8 lbs. of muscle since winning the '12 Model Superbody in Atlantic City. The 5'7", 175 lbs.. 24 year old college student says, "This year was phtysique. Next year could be a different story depending on the progress I make with my legs.. But, I am definitely heading into becoming a bodybuilder." Nick hails from Philidephia along with MM Pros Joe Patton, Julian Navarro and Frank Griffin. There's something in that Phily water!
Most of Guatemala's top natural bodybuilders and sports models will be on stage next weekend at MM Central America. Among the most popular are (L-R) Juan Pablo LarraƱaga, Juancho Jan, Elias Rojas, and Javier Carballo Mazariegos. Other competitors are coming from Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicuagua and Belize.
Egyptian sports model Moe Hadary isn't letting the chaos there to stop his training for next year's MM Arabia in Dubai. The 6', 195 lbs., financial advisor has never competed, so the show will be his debut to the fitness media and fans. Then, Moe will appear on stage in America at MM Universe in Miami. "I've been training since I was 13 and always liked the Herculean look," Moe explains.
The first Musclemania® Physique show was produced at the Superbody Show in Atlantic City last Saturday. The winner was Nick Morrell (2nd L) who also won the '12 Model Superbody Championships. But, now he 5'8", 175 lbs. college student added solid muscle mass and was ready for showtime. John Dang (2nd R)from Louisiana ran a very tight 2nd Place with a lean and symmetry upper body.
New MM Superbody Pro Champion Dewayne Malone (L) and Open Winner Frank Griffin (R) stormed the stage last night in Atlantic City. Dewayne battled a close complete with Musclemania Pro-Law Payne who ripped. And, at 6'3", 230 lbs., Frank took on tough competition and rightfully earned MM Pro status. Australian sports model Denham Raveendrakumar is heading for Model America in Las Vegas. The 5'10", 180 lbs., 29 year old engineer has won nearly all sports model shows "down under" and appears regularly in magazine features, advertising campaigns and loads of runway appearances. Denham says he's been on a heavy lifting regimen and wants to compete 10 lbs. heavier than his last stage appearance. "I want a new look for Las Vegas," he says. "I am bringing up my legs because I know I need a complete look against the best in the world." '12 Musclemania® Europe HW Champion Ben Radic continues to WOW wherever he goes. And, the 5'10", 225 lbs. Slovenian fitness trainer says he's training to dominate at MM Britain next week in London. "Since the Rome show (MM Europe in June), I have stayed on my diet and just kept training for muscle growth and symmetry," Ben explains. "I have been on a 4 year plan to create a physique. I am ready." Ben is also going to compete at MM Paris next month and MM World in Las Vegas. All three shows will be broadcast LIVE on www.musclemania.tv.
New MM Mexico Junior Champion Said Gerez may weigh only 160 lbs., but the 5'6", 20 year gym instructor has got muscle density way beyond his youth. Since his big win in May, he has been training more intense than ever with his sights set on MM Universe in Miami next June. "I am working my arms and calves because they need to match the rest of my body," Said says. "I don't want to step on stage again until everything is symmetrical and that's going to take the whole season. I want to win the junior division and know what I have to do."

Hardcore takes a whole new dimension when training in the gym where Vega Lumere has for the past 3 years. The 5'9", 195 lbs., 21 year old Congolian bodybuilder says he's more than 100% natural having not even used any supplements. Vega says, "All of us here just train hard. The vitamins are just too expensive. And, we make our own equipment. We love bodybuilding, here. We make it work." Vega is training for his first competition next season.
Just 22 years old, Kansas City jock Dont'e Franklin won the Musclemania® Mid America HW Open last Saturday. At 6', 198 lbs., the former high school football star says he started bodybuilding only 8 months ago and already developed incredible muscle mass and thickness. With 20" arms and an upper body to match, Dont'e says he's been hammering his legs. "I want to get everything symmetrical by Las Vegas," Dont'e says. "I know my weaknesses and they won't be in 3 months." Mid America show results and photos will be posted soon.
Model Universe star Tyler Mc Peak (C), MM Pro Matt liller (R) and friend Ben Bowles (L) caught a workout in Nashville yesterday. Tyler will appear on the cover of Natural Muscle next month. Matt just graduated law school and will soon begin working at a West Virginia law firm. He also plans to take the stage again next season.
With 3 months before MM World Pro in Las Vegas, MM Pro Larry Camacho is already lean. But the 5'7", 180 lbs., 26 year old says he hasn't even started his competition phase. "Next week, I will increase my protein with a lot more fish and chicken," Larry explains. "I want to gain muscle even though its contest time. I did it 5 years ago when I won MM Junior, so I am going back to what worked then."

Model New York Champion Maik Wiedenbach continues to amaze people as his physique evolves from being a competitive swimmer into a structured sports model and natural bodybuilder. The 6'2", 236 lbs., 37 year old trainer, who is featured here in an impressive shot by photographer Gregory James, has appeared in over a dozen magazines in the past year. But, he says, "I really enjoy prepping clients for their own competitions." The former German athlete enjoys spending time with his daughter and getting settled in at New York University as an adjunct professor.
Italian sports model Gabriele Belmonte has always been a popular competitor at Model Universe shows and was a Top 10 Finalist in Miami Beach in June. The 5'7", 175 lbs., 28 year old continues to make his mark on the Italian fashion and sports model scene years ago. But, now the personal trainer wants to change his physique, develop more muscle mass and start competing in Musclemania. "I keep getting a lot of people telling me to that I have good genetics and should be a bodybuilder," Gabriele explains. "I did not want to loose my shape, so I never did it before, but I keep develop more muscle every year. So, maybe now is the right time." Gabriele says he will take off the rest of the season and work on a bodybuilder regimen and prepare for next season.

Musclemania Japan star Akinobu Nagae proved to be one of the most popular bodybuilders and models at last month Fitness Universe Weekend in Miami Beach. The 5'10", 180 lbs., 32 year old personal trainer and sports model is legendary in the Land of the Rising Sun but only recently began to make his mark on the US natural bodybuilding and sporting modeling scene. His next show will be at Musclemania World in Las Vegas in November.
